Josh Grubaugh

Josh is a partner at WYO VC, a Wyoming based venture capital platform and the founder of Pack Energy, a microgrid ecosystem startup focused on developing a first-of-its-kind modular multi-node microgrid system.

Josh has spent over 20 years as a real-asset investor, finance, and business development executive with a focus in technology investments for the past 12 years. In his time at Hanwha Asset Management, he successfully invested ~ $700 million and managed LP relationships with some of the largest infrastructure funds globally. He also served as co-managing partner of a sustainability based fund platform at Deutsche Asset Management, where he helped lead the launch of Apple’s supply chain decarbonization fund, China Clean Energy Fund.

Earlier in his career at Recurrent Energy, Josh led, originated, or supported the development of ~1 gigawatt of solar power that resulted in nearly $2 billion in capital deployed. And while working as an operator and asset manager in power infrastructure at InterGen, Josh led global strategy for over 20 power plants across 10 countries valued at over $5 billion and helped lead a $3.4 billion debt restructuring.

Josh holds a BA in economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and studied economics at The London School of Economics and Political Science. He also serves on the board for the Jackson Hole Technology Partnership.
